Greetings, To My Dear and Beloved Family
Welcome
to our official Family Website! Throughout history, Black
families have had their share
of troubles, their share of joy and, pain. Today, most of us are still
striving to achieve our rightful place in this world, it has been a long journey. Our families, The
Timpson's, Haynes' and Davis', have met many challenges over the years and, we
continue to stand strong. As our ancestors guided us
with their knowledge, coupled with their wisdom and strength, I believe that the more we
embrace our heritage, the more empowered we become, assured in the knowledge
that if our ancestors could survive and thrive against all odds through faith in
God, certainly we can, too.
We
have so many things to be thankful for,
especially since the Lord has kept our immediate families together all this time
and allowed us to share good times. Now, we turn over a new leaf. We've been blessed to learn of
and about our extended
family. Now we must embrace this opportunity bestowed upon us and keep
in contact with each other.
I would like to take this opportunity to
cross this threshold (stepping
back and moving to a new beginning). We're stepping back in time
(reflecting) learning where we have been. We're moving forward to make a better
life for our families. I would like to invite you on this journey, as we
prepare for this, our official family website and the 1st Mayrie Family
Reunion, it is important for us to remember today these accounts, and with each
subsequent reunion, four major points:
|
1 |
To invoke the spirit of God in
everything we do so that the blessing of the Almighty will continue to rain
upon our family now, henceforth, and forever. |
|
2 |
To honor our ancestors,
their traditions and values and show unconditional love to our family and encourage
respect of our elders and nurturing of our young. |
|
3 |
To provide an avenue for
networking among family members and instill a sense of pride in the family. |
|
4 |
To leave a legacy
(by teaching the young) of the strength
within and importance of the family for posterity. |
In closing, as
many of you know, over the last several years, we have gathered significant data
on our family history and have produced an outstanding family history book that
we all can be proud of. However
without the efforts of the individuals listed below, the development of our
family history book and this family website would have not been possible. Thus, we would like
to thank:
All
of our family members especially our elders for taking the time to share
the history with us: Deacon Willie "Cooter" Haynes, Eura Lee Timpson
Ingram Alexander, Wardell "Joe" Timpson, James E. Haynes, Lucy Bell Haynes Perry
and, John Henry Haynes.
All
family members who have completed and submitted the family data questionnaires, as they
pertain to your family.
Our cousins, the foot soldiers, for their awesome contribution of countless
hours researching and gathering numerous vital documents and census records,
interviewing family members and, recording our family history,
including Nathaniel J. Haynes, Kathy "Kay-Kay" Woods Johnson, Cleveland "H"
Haynes, Annie Pearl Haynes Spurlin, Matthew E. Perry, Jr., Jaqueline
M. Perry, Peggy Timpson-Cummings and, Clifford Timpson, Sr.
Many Blessings,
Sincerely and Lovingly
Clifford Timpson, Sr.
Son of L.J. Clifford Timpson and
